Since 2003, Wolfgang Karl is professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Department of Informatics. He studied Computer Science at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg From 1987 until 2003 he was research assistant at the Lehrstuhl für Rechnertechnik und Rechnerorganisation (Prof. Dr. Arndt Bode) at the Department of Computer Science at the Technischen Universität München receiving his doctoral degree in 1992 and his venia legendi in 2002. Research interests are in the field of computer architecture with emphasis on parallel architectures and tools for parallel processing, adaptable and self-organizing systems.
